Schebler Specialty Fab provides on-site fabrication services, installation services, field maintenance, equipment, or ductwork upgrades and emergency repairs for a large number of regional industries and companies. One of those companies is Exelon Generation.
Exelon Generation is the leading provider of zero-carbon nuclear energy in the United States. Exelon Nuclear, a division of Exelon Generation, operates the largest fleet of nuclear plants in America with 23 reactors that are clean, zero-carbon and always on—making them an ideal foundation for our nation’s clean energy future.
At Schebler Specialty Fab, we recently completed our 17th annual maintenance shut down support at the Exelon Quad Cities Generation Station in Cordova, Illinois. Our first shut down was in 2000. 14 Schebler employees, led by project manager Kirk Gonyier, supported our maintenance shut down this year. In the past, we have provided up to 22 employees.
Our Specialty Fab technicians expertly maintain their ventilation systems and complete other sheet metal fabrication projects on-site at the generation plant. While
the maintenance shut down activity is completed over a three to four-week time period, Schebler employees support the generation plant’s needs throughout the year. Every Schebler employee must complete a four-day safety program and fitness for duty testing during the shutdown.
Schebler Specialty Fab has also supported Exelon nuclear generation stations in Dresden and Byron, Illinois..
